Most relationships, and the people in them, will change over the course of time. Around June 2024, my husband and I experienced such a change.
As best we could tell, a combination of lack of communication and traumas never quite conquered from childhood were leading us down a path that neither of us wanted to go down.
Access to mental health services for individuals became difficult, and access to services for couples even more so.
There appeared to be a wealth of information available to us, but it was too unstructured for it to be useful.
This is how ooli began.
The name is actually a play on the Korean pronoun 우리.
Half of the founding, husband and wife, team is Korean, so it's a culture that we are familiar with and enjoy together.
Technically, the romanization is closer to "uli", but the pronunciation sounds like the "oo" sound in english. It translates to "we" or "us" in English.
So there you have it. ooli.us
